IT Security Analyst

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Analyzes information security systems and applications and recommends and develops security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss.
  • Recommends and coordinates network security tasks for nationwide WAN, eleven LANs, and over 300 remote sites.
  • Test, recommend, deploy and maintain integrated security system solutions that will ensure proprietary/sensitive data and systems are protected.
  • Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations.
  • Defines network security issues, helps to develop plans and procedures, and ensure safety and privacy of data systems and web sites.
  • Recommends and develops security standards, procedures and policies in compliance with government directives and regulations. 
  • Documents results and provides interpretive analysis to technical management. 
  • Performs security compliance audits of contractor information systems. 
  • Performs audits, penetration testing and network monitoring for possible security vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation of findings.
  • Supervise testing and installation of patches and fixes for security vulnerabilities in vendor software. 
  • Build, secure, deploy and maintain network servers based on various Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Perform periodic audits and risk assessments to determine the overall state of physical and network security.
  • Provide investigation, coordination, reporting, remediation and follow-up of network security incidents. 
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used IT Information Assurance concepts, practices, and procedures.​
